Mechanical mill roll stand
Electric mill roll stand is an old model of mill roll stand. Before it, the stand for the paper roll was with shaft, it is a manual machine and low efficient. When the complete corrugated cardboard production line comes out, the mill roll stand is also comes. It is not with a shaft for fix the paper roll, to be instead of the shaft, they are arms with a clip tip to fix the paper roll, then it is easy to change paper roll, and it can fit to the higher speed production line running.
Electric mill roll stand for low speed production line
Years ago, the electric mill roll stand is much popular because it can meet most production line request and its price is much lower than hydraulic mill roll stand. In those years, most production line were running in speed 60m/minute, and 120m/minute. So the electric mill roll stand is enough for the requirement of the production lines. But now, it does not have wide application, because now our minimum speed of the multiply corrugated cardboard production line is in speed 120m/minute, and also we adopt the hydraulic mill roll stand for this production line, then for my company, we only adopt the electric mill roll stand in the single face corrugated cardboard production lines, and only the low speed 2 ply corrugator lines.
The electric mill roll stand is with a main axis, its in square shape. Then on the opposite side of the main axis, we fix four arms on it, each side with 2 arms. The arms can move left and right, to make the distance between two arms smaller and bigger, then it can clip the paper rolls and discharge the paper rolls easily.
The problem of this structure is that when one side of arms are up, the other side arms have to be down. Because all arms are fixed on one main axis, it looks like are seesaw. Then when we change paper rolls, we have to turn off the machines, and then put the paper roll on the mill roll stand, for low speed production line like the speed is lower than 100m/minute, it should be OK, but for higher speed production lines, it will be a big problem and affect on the complete production line running speed.

Electric mill roll stand is suit to 2 ply corrugated cardboard production line
Now, in my company, we only equipped electric mill roll stand in the 2 ply corrugated paperboard production line. Normally the 2 ply corrugated paperboard production line has two type.
One is basic type, it only has 1 single facer, 1 mill roll stand and one sheet cutter with stacker. This line working speed is 45-60m/minute. Then we equipped 1 set of electric mill roll stand is enough.
The other type is the production line also with a conveyor bridge, 2 sets of mill roll stand, two sets of pre heater. We also can equipped electric mill roll stand in this line, but its working speed is 80-100m/minute, if higher speed, we also have to consider hydraulic mill roll stand.
