Years ago, the flexo printing slotting die-cutting machine was semi automatic control. There is not any auto feeder, workers have to put the cardboard on the feeder one by one. We call it chain feeding. On the feeding table, there are two chain running in the table, when we put one cardboard on the feeding table, the chain will push it into the printing unit. It is simple and the speed is only 60 pieces per minute.
The printing units is same semi auto control. Before starting work, we have to phase each printing roller, make the printing plate of each printing unit in same position and degree, on each unit, there is a dial to show the degree, we have to adjust the agree manually, then when we start to work, it can make sure the precision of printing, sure it was a little big tolerance on printing.
Normally, most customer chose the slotting unit, because years ago, ordinary cartons was popular, only few quantity of carton box for gifts. So most carton factory will buy slotting unit with the flexo printing machine. The slotting unit is also need to phase manually, there is also a dial to show the degree, and except this, we have to adjust the slotting wheel distance manually. We can see a ruler to show the distance for each wheel, then we adjust the distance as per the order.
Sure, though there is few quantity cartons for gifts, but some factory has main client is for gift packing, so the rotary die-cutting unit is also a choice for them. And the rotary die-cutting unit is also phased manually, some time, the high price die-cutting unit is with a separate drive motor, but most machines was not have separate motor, because the price is a little high.
Stacker is not a necessary unit in those years. Because low running speed, most carton factories prepare a table to collect the cartons, they thought it was enough for stacking the cartons which is output from flexo printing slotting die-cutting machine.
It is worth mentioning that, in those years, most carton factories buy the printing machine, they only choose one of slotting unit and rotary die-cutting unit, it is difference to now, now they buy both slotting unit and rotary die-cutting unit. It is because difference period, difference historical background.
Clean system of waste scraps
Because of the running speed of the flexo printing slotting die-cutting machine is higher and higher, to collect the waste scraps of cartons is a problem for the carton factories. It will take a special worker for cleaning and collecting the waste scraps of cartons. So the clean system is necessary. This system normally is equipped on the stacker. There is a vibrator on the stacker, when the cartons come to this equipment, it will be shake and the scraps will fall out. Normally the slotting unit will not generate so much scrap which need to shake to fall out, only the rotary die-cutter, after cutting, many small scraps still connect on the cartons, have to shake it out by the vibrator. And under the vibrator belts, there is a conveyor. It can deliver the scraps to the place where to collect the waste scraps. By this equipment, no need worker to take off the scraps on the cartons, and no need a special worker to clean the scraps.
